Color LaserJet 4550 Series printers continue the tradition of excellence in HP LaserJet color printing, with fast and robust color at true 600dpi. HP Image REt 2400 uses a proprietary toner-on-toner process that varies and blends precise amounts of four process colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) to create millions of solid colors. This process creates more accurate details and photo-realistic images. HP ColorSmartII provides smart selection of color control and halftoning by data type. Industry standard red-green-blue output on color monitors (sRGB) enables printed colors to match screen colors. Use the software to select a glossy or matte finish for documents. They quickly and economically print up to 8.5- by 14-inch color output on both sides of the page with the automatic duplex unit, and can print on a wide variety of media such as glossy paper, transparencies, labels and envelopes.

In addition, the CLJ 4550 Series are HP JetSend-enabled, meaning they can receive compressed electronic documents directly from devices such as the HP 9100C Digital Sender and print them in full, robust color, allowing new document creation.
